Coastal Telco Services can now offer high-speed Internet access via Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) technology. DSL is full-time internet access; no hourly limits apply. Access speeds up to 768kbps in both directions are available.
Please read this page, our Acceptable Use Policy, and the DSL Service Agreement. If you would like to get DSL, please download our DSL Application and bring it into our Lincolnville or Nobleboro office.

Service is available in all locations served by Lincolnville Telephone and Tidewater Telecom.
Services
Coastal Telco has three DSL plans: DSL Standard, DSL Deluxe and DSL Power User.
DSL Standard:
DSL customers will receive the following services:
- High-speed access up to 768kbps - approximately 15 times faster on download and 25 times faster on upload than conventional 56k modems
- Five e-mail accounts - additional e-mail accounts are available at $5 per month
- Up to five static IP addresses. One address is required for each computing device on the DSL line (computer, firewall, etc) that communicates with the Internet.
- Dial-up Access - Each DSL customer is allowed 15 hours of dial-up connect time for use when the customer is not at their DSL site.
DSL Deluxe:
All the great features of DSL Standard but with 50 hours of dial-up access. Great for checking email while out of the office.
DSL Power User:
All the great features of DSL Standard but with 200 hours of dial-up access. Great for satellite offices or working from home.
Customer Supplied Equipment
The customer shall supply computer and communications equipment that meets or exceeds the following requirements:- Paradyne DSL modem
- 10baseT ethernet cable
- Paradyne low pass phone filter (optional)
- Please call to verify model numbers, etc.

PC Compatible Systems:- Processor: 100 MHz Pentium or faster (or equivalent)
- Memory: 64 MB RAM or more
- Disk Space: 35 MB of free space
- Interface: 10baseT or better (Twisted Pair) Ethernet Network Interface Card
- Operating System: Windows 98, 2000, NT, XP, Vista*
Macintosh Systems:
- Processor: 100 MHz or faster PowerPC
- Memory: 64 MB of RAM or more
- Disk Space: 35 MB of free space
- Interface: 10baseT or better (Twisted Pair) Ethernet Network Interface Card
- Operating System: Mac OS X or greater*
* Please Note: You will need to have the original Operating System diskettes or CD available at time of installation.
Charges
Initialization Fee: $120 ($25 if one-year contract signed)

Reactivation Charge: $25
| A reactivation charge will be required to reactivate any cancelled account, whether cancellation is initiated by Customer or by CTS. This reactivation charge is in addition to any outstanding charges for DSL internet service. |
DSL Basic: 15 hours at no charge. Additional hours will be billed at $1.25 per hour.
DSL Deluxe: 50 hours at no charge. Additional hours will be billed at $1 per hour.
DSL Power User: 200 hours at no charge. Additional hours will be billed at 75 cents per hour.
